A quick Italian-Asian fusion dish—like baked ravioli, but with chicken and vegetable pot stickers.
Serves: 4
Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 25 minutes
Ingredients
- 1 package frozen chicken and vegetable pot stickers (about 20)
- 2 cups marinara sauce
- 1½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- ¼ teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes, optional
- Fresh basil or parsley, for serving
Directions
- Heat the oven to 400°F.
- Heat the olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium-high heat. Arrange the frozen pot stickers in a single layer and cook for 2–3 minutes, until the bottoms are golden.
- Add ¼ cup water, cover the skillet and steam for 4–5 minutes. Remove the lid and let any remaining water evaporate.
- Sprinkle in the garlic, Italian seasoning and red pepper flakes. Cook for about 30 seconds.
- Pour the marinara sauce around and over the pot stickers. Top evenly with mozzarella and Parmesan.
- Bake uncovered for 12–15 minutes, until the sauce is bubbling and the cheese is melted. Broil for an additional 1–2 minutes for a nicely browned top.
- Garnish with fresh basil or parsley and serve with garlic bread or a simple salad.
Note: Browning the pot stickers before adding the sauce gives them better flavor and keeps them from becoming too soft.
